"The Only Living Boy in New York" : Man, the melody is gold. Chunked through the chords as best i could to get the melody out. The other pearl for me was trying to emulate Joe Osborn's filthy subplot of a bass line...if i had a taco for every hour i have spent trying to get my Fender Coronado to get "that" bass timbre over the years i'd be much heavier. Enjoyed working the Fender xii string in the mix.

jmc : voices, Frank's Ibanez Acoustic Guitar with Maple fretboard, Fender Coronado Bass, Fender xii electric guitar, & "Muttly" the official drumkit of homespun.

"Song For the Asking" : While there are albums that end with a rocker i far prefer the "pat on the bum sending the listener off to bed' type songs. This could by my very favorite such closing tune. I made a one mic take on an album 10 years ago called "The Egg Timer Sessions" but felt nice to try and make a proper take with a few harmony voices etc...again, fumbled around for chords to drag the melody out so while it's wrong it's certainly me to a degree i trust...

Both songs made in a rush and all parts recorded with 2 SM57's dynamic mics. Sung, recorded, mixed, & now deleted from HoMeSpUn studios here in tucson.
