linear notes from homespun ~

...been some time. this morning's tinkerings mark the first of my own debris being drug to shore in a long time. had this melody about a year ago and took some journal entries shortly after my Mom passed away in September of last year. shaped the melody on walks along the Santa Cruz Wash with the trusty and sometimes fierce Sam.

...the reflective lyrics are from my second to last time at my Mom's side in hospice. the first verse defined it perfectly. this morning felt like a fine time to sing to her and now i guess others as well. i truly wish Mom is being drenched in the things she failed to find while here.

...my Mom and i are similar in some magical and head scratching ways. while life is indeed hard, she and i had the propensity for making harder at times. however, on the flip side, i believe my Mom and i were sharply aware how having a partner to break each others falls in this world truly helped extract the nicer things we were/are capable of. she exampled this to me right on through until her days ran out. bless her for that demonstration.

...made this morning with dusty gear that all fired up when i turned them on. some scratchy faders that needed han solo taps on to get them to cooperate. who am i kidding i am dusty to be sure.

...felt a bit like myself again in there. things can happen.
